Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers to common questions about meth decontamination, health risks, and the remediation process.

General Questions

Myths vs. Truths

MYTH:

"Meth residue is only found in houses that were used as drug labs."

TRUTH:

Most contamination comes from heavy *use* (smoking), not cooking. Smoke settles on walls, carpets, and ducts, creating hazardous levels of residue even if no manufacturing ever took place.

MYTH:

"I can just paint over the walls to fix it."

TRUTH:

Painting merely encapsulates the residue temporarily. It can eventually bleed through, and it doesn't address contamination in ducts, carpets, or other surfaces. Proper chemical decontamination is required.
